As teams gear up for the annual WHAC Tournament, there are two who know they are in for sure, and are using the final games of the season as a tuneup for the tourney.
The Concordia Lady Cardinals, ranked seventh in Division II and having only one loss on the season, used home court advantage against Indiana Tech as they defeated the Lady Warriors 67-53. Up next was a trip to Sylvania, Ohio to take on the Lourdes Lady Gray Wolves. The Lady Gray Wolves were dispatched easily, 70-45.

The Lady Cardinals were waiting at home after that easy win for their next opponent, the Lady Mustangs of Marygrove College. Once again, the Lady Cardinals took care of business, defeating the Lady Mustangs 86-52.
Davenport is close behind the Lady Cardinals, as the Lady Cougars have just two losses on the season. They are ranked ninth in Division II. They traveled to Adrian, Michigan to take on the Siena Heights Lady Saints, and defeated them 70-66. They then returned home to take on the Lady Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech, easily taking care of them, 93-57.
But, after the win it seems they celebrated too much, undermining the Lady Crusaders of Madonna, falling in Livonia, 78-74. It was just the second loss of the season for Davenport.
It shouldn’t phase them though, as they will take on the UM-D Lady Wolves this Wednesday, followed by a trip to seventh-seeded Aquinas.
The top two teams will go at it on February 13 in what could be a battle for the first seed in the WHAC Tournament. They will wrap up their season against the Lady Warriors at Indiana Tech.
The current standings are Concordia in first, Davenport in second, Siena Heights in third, Madonna in fourth and Cornerstone in fifth. In the sixth seed, Indiana Tech, followed by Aquinas at seventh and UM-D in the eighth seed.
From the outside looking in, Northwestern Ohio sitting directly behind UM-D, Lourdes in the tenth spot, followed by Lawrence Tech and Marygrove in last place.
Aquinas and UM-D will be battling for the seventh and eighth seed as they have the same WHAC record right now, 8-10 and could challenge Indiana Tech for the seventh seed depending on a number of combined wins and losses.
As for now, the WHAC teams have pretty much been finalized as UNOH in the ninth spot looking from the outside in, has a 6-12 record, and would need a miracle to make the tourney.
